Description
These three strands lay together on my design board for months. The translucent Golden Horn replaced a strand of opaque Café au Lait Jaspar that wasn’t a good fit colorwise and they all three seemed happy to include Copper in their company. Sterling and Gold would have also been good but at $40/$1500 per oz. I have been moved to use this beautiful and less expensive alternative when it fits (please see Rose Quartz, Lodolite and Copper).
My personal preference in choosing earrings to accompany a necklace which makes such a strong statement, like this one does, is: “Don’t let them compete for attention”, so these are understated. I could make a showier pair if desired.
My design problem for this piece was: “What can I do to set off the center area of each strand that will not detract from the other two strands’ centerpieces?”
Also, I could make the individual beads in each strand stand out by adding a smaller bead between each, as I have often done. But “No”, in this case; the triple strands needed a more unified look, I decided. Hope you agree.
